Save Our Sand Hayle Now Part of The Friends of the Towans

fottThe Unregistered charity, Save Our Sand (S.O.S), Hayle, was wound up in the autumn of 2021. It was decided by the Trustees that, to ensure the continuance of Save Our Sand, it would be best to merge with the newly formed registered charity, The Friends of the Towans (https://friendsofthetowans.co.uk/). S.O.S. will from now on be a working party of the Friends of the Towans. Both organisations have a similar focus of looking to protect and maintaining the beaches and dunes of the St Ives Bay from the Hayle Estuary to Godrevy. S.O.S. will maintain its monthly beach cleans from Spring to early Autumn and data will still be collated on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society. The S.O.S. website will, for the time being, remain open for historical reference. A link has been set up on the F.O.T.T. website.
